Thom's Mini Review: The "old man" of the DX lineup. This lens was originally the kit lens for the D70, and continued in availability long after it was replaced as a kit lens in camera kits (now discontinued). It really has only one flaw, vignetting wide open, but that's a livable flaw, especially with bodies that have automatic correction for it. The lens is a slightly better build quality than the current kit lenses, too, and holds up well in rough handling. It also handles 20/24mp quite well.
