Maybe Buy Your Mom a Nikon?

NikonUSA has introduced new discounts in time for Mother's Day:

  • D500 [advertiser link] — free grip with body, or US$479 discount plus free grip with 16-80mm f/2.8-4 lens
  • D750  [advertiser link] — US$500 discount plus free grip with body, or US$1100 discount plus free grip with 24-120mm f/4 lens
  • D810  [advertiser link] — US$200 discount plus free grip with body, or US$800 discount plus free grip with 24-120mm f/4 lens
  • D3400  [advertiser link] — US$499 price for camera plus 18-55mm and 70-300mm DX lenses

One might note that the US price for a D750 with the 24-120mm lens is now the same price as the Sony A7m3 body only. ;~) Can't be a coincidence.

The D750 kit is a pretty nice bargain for a very good camera that still performs well against current comers. The D810 is still a very nice camera, but the discount for it and the D500 seem less than generous. As always, the D3400 two-lens kit is about the best US$500 you can spend in terms of getting quality/performance for the price in digital cameras.
